The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 27 people for alleged illegal fishing during operations between June 16 and June 30. The Navy also seized 10 dinghies and two canoes in operations across areas including Soodaikuda and Sweet Bay in Trincomalee, Uduththurai, Veththalakeni, Kaddaikadu and Vallei in Jaffna, and Savaripuram in Silavathurai, before handing suspects, vessels and gear to fisheries offices and police for legal action.
