A verified and unified news platform
Lanka News Room is an Agentic AI editorial news platform built to make news clearer, calmer, and easier to understand for Sri Lankan and global readers.
We bring together important news from Sri Lanka and around the world, organize it in one place, and present it in English, Sinhala, and Tamil where translations are available.
Our purpose is to create a unified platform where readers can discover, read, understand, and ask questions about news without needing to visit many different websites separately.
Our Mission
Our mission is to benefit Sri Lankan and global readers by making trusted news more accessible, organized, and understandable.
Lanka News Room uses Agentic AI systems to discover public news from across the web, analyze related stories, summarize key points, and help readers understand what is happening with clarity.
We aim to reduce confusion, noise, and misinformation by presenting news in a calm, structured, and source-aware way.
What Makes Lanka News Room Different
Lanka News Room is not just a normal news website. It is designed as an AI-powered news assistant and unified news platform.
Our system can:
- Discover public news sources across the web
- Monitor RSS feeds and search discovery sources
- Identify related stories from different publishers
- Organize news by topic, category, country, and relevance
- Summarize important stories clearly
- Help readers understand news through AI chat
- Support English, Sinhala, and Tamil content where available
- Save articles and personalize the reading experience
- Provide a simple way to report issues, suggest improvements, and give feedback
The goal is to help readers move from "just reading headlines" to actually understanding the full story.
How Our Agentic AI System Works
Lanka News Room uses an Agentic AI-assisted workflow to discover, process, and present news.
Our system monitors public web sources, RSS feeds, search discovery results, and available news content in English, Sinhala, and Tamil. It then groups related stories, identifies key points, and creates clear summaries with attention to source quality and context.
For important, sensitive, or developing stories, we aim to treat information carefully by separating what appears confirmed from what may still be unclear.
AI helps us work faster, but responsible publishing remains important.
Editorial Standards
Lanka News Room prioritizes official announcements, verified media outlets, public institutions, primary documents, and credible reporting.
We aim to follow these standards:
- Clear source attribution where available
- Calm and responsible presentation
- Avoiding unnecessary sensationalism
- Identifying confirmed and unclear information
- Respecting original publishers and sources
- Using AI responsibly
- Reviewing sensitive stories with extra care
When information is uncertain, we aim to say so clearly instead of presenting developing details as final facts.
AI News Assistant
Lanka News Room includes AI agent capabilities that help readers interact with news more intelligently.
Readers may use AI-powered features to ask questions, understand summaries, explore related context, and simplify complex news topics.
However, AI-generated answers may sometimes be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Readers should verify important information from official sources, original publishers, or trusted authorities before making decisions based on news content.
Multilingual News Access
Sri Lanka is a multilingual country, and news should be easier to access across languages.
Lanka News Room aims to support English, Sinhala, and Tamil news experiences where translations and summaries are available.
Our goal is to help more readers understand important stories in the language that is most comfortable for them.
Corrections, Feedback, and Improvements
We welcome corrections, suggestions, issue reports, and improvement ideas from our readers.
