Deputy Environment Minister Anton Jayakody says the government has launched an integrated programme of immediate and long-term measures to address Sri Lanka's human-elephant conflict. The programme includes strengthening wildlife field operations, restoring water sources and grasslands in reserves, opening the Koholankala, Hadapanagala and Wetahirakanda elephant corridors, and appointing an expert committee to submit recommendations to the President within three months.
