The government has launched immediate measures to reduce human-elephant conflict while a new National Action Plan for Human-Elephant Coexistence is being prepared. Daily Mirror reported that the measures include restoring blocked elephant corridors, protecting forests, creating elephant enrichment zones under the Wanaspathi programme and strengthening enforcement for elephant management reserves.
