BASL President Rajeev Amarasuriya said the retirement ages of Court of Appeal and Supreme Court judges should not be changed arbitrarily, saying any amendment is unnecessary and inappropriate. He made the remarks at a BASL public forum in Colombo on reports of a possible constitutional amendment to raise the current retirement ages of 63 for Court of Appeal judges and 65 for Supreme Court judges, and said the association had already written to the President opposing the move.sundaytimes +3
