The Public Health Inspectors' Union warned that Sri Lanka's dengue hyper-epidemic is not yet under control, despite some improvement in initial outbreak areas. Acting President Upul Rohana said new clusters are emerging as light showers increase mosquito-breeding risks, while the National Dengue Control Unit reported more than 57,000 cases, 35 deaths and 1,253 new cases within the previous 24 hours.
