The Saudi Arabia-funded Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sabaragamuwa is to be ceremonially inaugurated on July 4, with Prime Minister and Education Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya attending as chief guest. The project, financed through a US$50 million Saudi Fund for Development loan, includes a modern faculty complex, student hostels, a library, a 1,000-seat auditorium and a Professorial Unit at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital. It will be Sri Lanka's 10th medical faculty and is expected to expand local medical education and support the training of healthcare professionals.colombotimes +4
