The Electricity Consumers' Association urged the government and the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka to pass on savings from the recent diesel price reduction to electricity consumers. Association Secretary Sanjeewa Dhammika said a Rs. 25 reduction per litre could lower electricity generation costs by about Rs. 62.5 million a day, and questioned why naphtha and fuel oil prices had not also been revised.
