The National Transport Commission announced revised bus fares following Cabinet approval, with the minimum fare rising from Rs. 30 to Rs. 34 from July 6, 2026. The NTC said normal services under 100 kilometres will see a 12 percent increase, while longer normal routes will see a 20 percent increase. The commission warned operators not to charge above the approved fares and asked passengers to report overcharging.
