The final batch of turbines for the 50 MW HayWind wind power project in Mannar has arrived at the Port of Trincomalee. Installation work is underway at the Mannar site, with the project expected to add 50 MW to the national grid after completion in March 2027. Officials say the project is expected to reduce fossil-fuel imports and support Sri Lanka's renewable energy targets.
