The Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Ministry said Rs. 500 million has been allocated to provide 50 modern paddy dryers to cooperative societies. The ministry said each dryer will handle nearly 10 metric tonnes a day and is meant to help farmers dry paddy safely, sell harvests to cooperatives at better prices and support fair rice-market competition.
